4-year-old boy dies, 2-year-old brother hospitalized after being pulled from hot car in Connecticut

A 4-year-old from Connecticut died in a car in the heat Thursday, and local authorities are trying to find answers to their questions by analyzing images from a surveillance camera.

“It’s a terrible tragedy, but when the event comes near you, the impact is even greater,” Dusan, a 4-year-old neighbor and Davion, 2, told CNN’s Roger Wadsworth.

The police say the two children were found in the family car in front of their apartment. the father told a 911 operator.

after being rushed to the hospital, Dusan succumbed to his injuries while Davion is still in critical condition.

“I have absolute confidence that our police service will complete the investigation and share the findings with the public,” said Mayor Nancy Rossi. “It’s a very sad day for our community. When a child loses their life so young, it’s hard to get through,” she told CNN.

Images from surveillance cameras placed near the apartment building will facilitate the work of the investigators.

“We just got two videotapes of the building where we see the two boys,” says police sergeant Charles Young.

According to estimates, the temperature in the vehicle would have reached 98.6F.
